Holiday Gifts Exchanges are kindness acts, do some

It is that wonderful (why do we always use that word to describe the feeling?) time of year when frustration and fun, chaos and content go hand-in-hand with family, friends and your inner child. We call it shopping, celebrating, giving and receiving with get-togethers, parties and gift-exchanges. This coming up December 24th takes three different cultures under its 'holy night' as Christmas Eve, Chanukah Eve, and Kwanzaa Eve use commercialism as a venue to deliver acts of kindness as 'commercialism' does not avoid any holiday where gift-exchanging is concerned.

Most people see holiday holy day & times through a religious and/or biblical lens and hopefully even moreso using the clarity of their individual spirituality in those lenses to appreciate real compasssion. To give a gift to someone there must be someone who made that gift to give. I am an artist and writer by nature and within me are the creative energies that flow onto note tablets, canvas bound easels, and computer screens with both photographic and manipulation techniques tools at my fingertips.

I recall how good it feels (felt) to create something by hand if I was nearly broke (which is most of the time after mortgage, and the other 'imp' bills are attended to)but able to bring a smile to someones face who was more broke and destitute than I was, or felt. I would find old tinsel in the box marked 'christmas goods', delapitaded un-fixable ornaments, flimsy snow decals and hanging decorations, lots of them un-used and ready to be be made into 'something'. I even found silken threads of various colors fitting for the holiday decorating. If I had a few dollars in my savings jar, I went and bought inexpensive bags of potpourri and fragrance oils and incenses to create tranquil-inducing' small gifts.

I suppose gift-giving is just a small way of saying thank you for sharing the existence with me on this planet called earth and if it is a way to induce tranquility in one's chaos and frustration, mine slips away. No matter what belief or religious ideation you embrace dear to your heart, my suggestions for your gift exchange does not have to be a traumatic experience in which you stress over giving a friend who may not be a Christian, a gift that would impose your belief on them. Don't sweat it as there are thousands of gifts out here such as inspirational,maybe even for the fisher-person, for that sexy lady who wants to be warm, the puzzle lovers, those who love wooden blocks, the outdoors family, or finally that great guy who has everything, wants nothing, but needs everything-- the Basix !

I find that a traditional gift-exchange can be exciting for the holiday whatever belief the culture has the people in it follow, to appreciate a reward for being here in this existence with you is kindness shown, felt and delivered to another, YEY !

"Marathon Programming 2010"

no more scapegoats please . . . means the New Years Day choice of 'marathon programming' specifically broadcast on SyFy today, The Twilight Zone offer some profound messages as discovered in watching the chosen episodes they aired. 46 hours of stereotypical, influential, prejudice BUT highly motivating material is something few might look forward to when travelling this 'entertainment avenue'. However, the classic representation of how society held precious the terms like monotheism, ethnocentrism and racism--those nasty 'isms' the human race adopts to mingle but ends up colliding . . . and then cannot fathom why there is so much hate, asking who is responsible.
Well duh !

I enjoyed episodes that centered around time travel, clairvoyance, dreams, illogical situations that would turn possible if just the spirit instead of ego is embraced. The shows that come to mind are "Willoughby", "Midnight Sun", "I Sing The Body Electric", "Living Doll" and "An Unusual Camera". If I could re-write some of these with less mediocrity and more imaginative harmony, a true 'grass is greener on the other side' would exist. Right now the viewer just watches this stuff in amusement instead of an avenue for channleing change.

Ever get those feelings that should be wrapped up in pretty-foil colored paper, bows and christmas glitter but also reflecting on a much more profound level where hope is do-able ? Christmas carols, the traditional ones, have been re-done time and time again by various artists. Many do a very good job adding their own repertoire to an already great base song. The compilations show diversity and the duets represent harmonic coupling of the greatest measure. One such album single comes to mind from two very different yet talented performers of music, both contemporary and classical.
David Bowie and Bing Crosby find a moment to merge voices in a traditional appeal to the classic message of give peace a chance . . . Won't you give a listen and give peace a chance ?

Ever visited the dark side of life in grief, separation, break-up, divorce, or even if you just feel light cannot come in when yonder breaks . . .? The avenue I use to seek a certain source of incredible light from is found on "the dark side of the moon'. A place for me where nothing matters except what I am doing which could be nothing, or who I am with which could be myself, I am content with, peacefully. This album is another favorite because the female voice on some of these cuts is just ethereal beyond ones wildest imagination and ethereal can be pretty darn sexy ! It is a voice of an angel who like you and I, feels free by harnessing the power her voice can carry over the airwaves. It sends shivers and makes you alive !

I have had the rare opportunity to see this band three times in my four decades of life and each time, a spectacular show and performance of voice and creative lyrical expression, was embraceable. The voice of Gilmour or Waters is not what really makes the grade, it is the way these guys instrumentally tell a story through choice lyrics and long harmonic tangents. It is probably some of the best emotion-cajoling music out here and it certainly gets my stamp of approval. This one is my all time favorite from Pink Floyd. I hope it becomes yours also . . .

She was bold, she was intelligent, she was a dreamer and in this movie she was far away from ghetto living in ghetto as she ever wanted to be, until her harmony came along and the song "Jason's Lyric" becomes her personal tale of . . . Delivered with grit and grace, blood and sweat, swearing and apologizing, killing and praying--the performance of Jada Pinkett is exceptionally inspiring. It is not just love sparked by more than a need to escape from the shackles our ego puts on ourselves, it is about personal discovery in the most natural way. Great movie and very appropriate explicit language soundtrack to follow. Embrace the indifference in cultural views of how love is really all you need.

A place to list, discuss and guide those also seeking a more richer life experience. Our regular television stations that began as ealy as 1939, ABC, NBC and CBS offered what they had to work with via Hollywood and local newspaper stations turning to televised coverage.

The folks growing up in the 40, 50's and early 60's saw television adopt some radical concepts to forge ahead with and entertainment which had started out as a tickler and stimulation of higher thought processes was now 'changing the way Americans' were to look at their world at large. Mass media and television stations popped up everywhere and an avenue for exploration of the sense, outside your backyard, were limited still to what 'show' was on in the family living room. That was conversation. That was imagination fed, or was it ?

Entertainment today still focuses on the sense but we have much more avenues in choice to explore. In books we have a few more genre categories than the early twentieth century had; in movies we are given more or less critical views of what is distasteful to some but freedom of expression to many; the avenue of music is the third that is aimed to entertain by way of capturing a part of the brain associated with harmonizing triggers and improving the cognitive construct.

With this 'entertainment avenue' I can find a section of my ego that reacts boldly to external stimulae, as it should. But what I stimulate it with is exercising my freedom of choice. And no matter what country you live in that human innate element cannot be taken away . . . what do you discover when you travel this road upon which curiosity is the hunger that needs to be fed ?

Hi folks !

This is not going to be just a place for advertising the creative way I can market my ideas, i.e. the Epinion review followed by Amazon purchase box, but used as a place to educate. Where I can share my insight gained from the paths I travel on in my sojourn of life regarding particular areas of interest. This particular area, the paranormal investigative arena, is welcomed due to the event of Halloween upon us. It is a celebration of the harvest and the coming into the winter solstice but it is so commercialized that many don't see past the trick or treat of it all. I do and am here to use this template of this post, as a foundation for helping people find a way into 'eternal continuance of life'.
The icons below are examples of some material that has taught me a great deal about the way I perceived life in the past and how continuing to do so may just keep me 'left behind' unless I follow the song my soul sings. Do you listen to yours or follow someone else's ?
